Better Homes & Gardens

Authentic Roof Australia was certainly the star of the show in the roofing segment of the July 10 episode of Australian lifestyle giant, Better Homes & Gardens.

It easily outshone all other roofing options featured in terms of strength, durability and beauty. Host Rob Palmer couldn't help but be impressed when failed to damage the slates after bashing them with his hammer... Is there any other roofing system who could boast the ability to withstand that!?

Be sure to check out the August issue of the magazine to see us mentioned!

The superior roofing solution.

Where and how are they made?

These synthetic roof slates are a "World First" produced in Canada for over 20 years by Crowe Building Products in Toronto. They are manufactured from a proprietary blend of high quality post industrial and post consumer polymers called ACE Compound, an extremely durable, environmentally safe material made without harmful chemicals or plasticizers.

The slates are produced using a 'colour-through' process and are therefore fade-resitant and extensive tests have shown run-off water is safe to drink. The moulds for the slates are computer engineered and precision-crafted to achieve the special, natural look of 100 year old slates.

The superior structural integrity and impact resistance of the slates has enabled the manufacturer to offer an amazing 50 year limited warranty on the product giving you, the customer, peace of mind. The slates have built-in UV protection, are incrediblely strong, easy to install and the slate-like surface hides scratches and is virtually maintenance free.

How are these slates an improvement on natural slate?

Our slates are extremely lightweight when compared to most roofing materials. When you are comparing to natural slate, this means no added expense for extra roof supports. They are also extremely easy to lay, with spacings, placement markets and nail guides embossed on the slates, so you will not need the sevices of a specialist slate roofer, saving you time and money again.

The slates are currently available in black and dark grey and are specifically designed to look as close to natural slate as possible. 8 different molds create perfectly create the illusion of natural slate, but with a product that is unmatched in strength and virtually maintenance-free. Natural slate, and all other roofing materials for that matter, cannot withstand a vicious hail storm, which can leave you with not only roof repairs but further repairs to your home if the hail damage has resulted in water damage. Our synthetic slates will not crack, break or chip in any hail storm. If you have not already, view the clip on our home page showing how the slates withstand blows from a hammer.

The slates also have a superior wind-resistance, are flame-retardant and fade-resistant. Combine all of this with the fact that they are made from recycled waste and are completely recyclable and you will agree this is indeed a superior roofing solution.
